Pony Parties

Pony parties for children are the perfect way of celebrating birthdays or any other event. We have a wide range of adorable, gentle and safe ponies for children to ride and groom. Our pony parties are great fun and supervised by our riding centre’s friendly, experienced staff. Contact us for more information on our pony parties or to book.

When do pony parties take place?

Saturdays and Sundays at 1.30, 2.45 and 4pm or weekdays after school at 4.30 or 5.30 (just 4.30 Friday)

How old do children need to be to take part in a pony party?

Five years or over

What happens at pony parties?

We have 3 different pony party options for children's birthday parties.

Option 1

1/2 hour riding & 1/2 hour grooming

The children will be divided into two groups.  One group will ride whilst the others groom. After half an hour, the groups will swap over.  This option gives the children a 'taster' of horses and riding.

This option is ideal for younger children (4-7 years), or those with little or no experience with horses.

Maximum 26 children

Option 2

45 mins ridings and 15 mins grooming

All the children ride together for 45 minutes, then all the children groom for 15 minutes.  This option gives the children a basic introduction to horses and riding.

This option is ideal for older children (8-11 years), with little or no experience with horses, and allows the children to all enjoy together.

Maximum 15 children.

Option 3

1 hour riding party

All the children ride together for the full hour.  This option gives the children a more in depth introduction to horses and riding, or those with previous riding experience, the opportunity to develop their skills.

This option is ideal for children aged 12 and over, or those with previous riding experience.

Maximum 15 children

 

At the end of the riding section of the party, each child will receive a rosette.

The party will include riding at walk and trot, and may include gymkhana games.

 

Clothing:

Children should wear

  • shoes or boots with a smooth sole and a small heel (no trainers, or boots with zips on the inside of the leg)  Riding boots can be borrowed from the centre.
  • long comfortable trousers
  • long hair tied back with no grips or clips under the hat.
  • no jewellery
  • riding hats can be borrowed from the centre.
Birthday Tea
A buffet style birthday tea, and use of our party room for 1 hour can be arranged for after the riding section of the party, at a cost of £7 per head.  We can offer a meat option or a veggie option, or a combination of the two.  The menu includes: Chicken nuggets, Smiley faces, Mini pizzas, Cocktail sausages, Vegetable batons, Sandwiches with a variety of fillings, and crisps.  For dessert, you can chose from, fruit skewers, jelly & ice cream or ice lollies.  The price also includes unlimited squash.  Alternatively you may hire the party room for £50 for the hour and provide your own food.
Sandwich platters can be provided for adults for an additional charge.
